What local SEO actually changes for your business
Local SEO is not the same fight as ordinary SEO. Ordinary SEO competes for the blue links; local SEO competes for the block of three business listings and a map that Google puts above everything else when a search has local intent. That block takes the majority of clicks on searches like «dentist Torrevieja» or «restaurant near me», and it is won with completely different signals.
Domain age and page count barely matter there. Three things do: how close you are to the person searching, how relevant your listing is to the exact words they typed, and how well known your business is, which Google reads from reviews, mentions and the consistency of your details across the web. That is why a small independent business can outrank a chain inside its own neighbourhood.
